Arrival by plane
Barcelona´s nearest airport is Aeroport del Prat and is well connected by public transport. For further information click here.
A shuttle bus between the airport and the center of Barcelona is available every 5-10 minutes between 5.00 am and 0.30 am. The journey lasts 35 minutes depending on the traffic and only costs €5,90 one-way or €10,20 return.
If you purchase the accommodation package at The Student Hotel Campus, we recommend taking this service. Once you arrive at Plaza Catalunya, you will need to change onto the metro. Then take the red line 1, direction Fondo, and exit the train within two stops at Marina station. You’ll find more information and the shuttle stop map here.
Line 9 of Metro connects the airport to the main streets of Barcelona and costs €4,50 one-way. For more information please click here.
Taxis operate 24 hours. The journey lasts approximately 30- 45 minutes and tariffs vary depending on the time. Prices range from €40 - €55. For more information please click here.
Trains depart every 30mins from Terminal 2 to Estacio de Sants, from where you can take metro services to your destination. The journey lasts approximately 20 mins. There´s a free airport shuttle bus between terminals, for more information please consult times and fares here.

Transport in Barcelona
Barcelona offers several types of public transport: buses, metro (subway) and tramway. Tickets and prices vary according to duration but are the same for all types of transport within zone 1. For further details about the different bus, tram and metro routes: www.tram.cat/en/ and www.tmb.cat/en
- T-causal - Ticket for 10 trips, zone 1: 11.35 €
- T-usual - Ticket with unlimited travel for 30 consecutive days in zone 1*: 40 €
*If you register for the hospitality package, a T-casual ticket will be included.
Metro: Operate weekdays (Monday to Thursday) 5 am until midnight and on Friday until 2.00 am. Saturday it's available all night. Sundays and public holidays during the week until midnight.
Bus: The city of Barcelona has a bus network with more than 80 different routes
Tram: Offers 6 routes, 3 to the North and 3 to the South of the city.
Bikes: The city hall´s bike service Bicing can only be used for students enrolled in full academic programs. However, there are various bicycle hire companies, especially in the old quarter. Cyclists can take their bicycles on most of the city's public transport, except buses.

When you have completed your registration and we have received your payment, we will provide you with an acceptance letter which will help you in obtaining a visa, should you require one.

Citizen from outside the European Economic Area or Switzerland
If you are coming from a country outside the EU you will need to contact the Spanish Embassy before coming regarding possible agreements with Spain concerning the health system. Please see more information here.
If there is no agreement, it will be necessary for you to take out a private health Insurance cover. We strongly recommend that before your departure to Spain, you take out a good travel health insurance, which includes medical repatriation.
